The first Collaborative Knitting Project is underway now, and I’m so excited about it! My collaborator, Kate Simpson, has taken on the project with me to test out the potential of this project, which i hope can go global towards the end of the year.
Kate’s first contribution couldn’t have been better! She has chosen a colour which compliments the colours of the first two tone pattern I chose to knit to start the project off. She’s also very cleverly picked out the the motive I chose to knit, as a small cable, which i think looks just amazing. This is exactly the approach I wanted the project to take, looking at the versatility of knitting, and how many different techniques can be worked together to create interesting and inspiring results. so watch out for future progressions and see what happens!
My next task is to look through my stitch books and pick out a third pattern which compliments this piece of knitting as a whole. Then i have to decide where to reattach the yarn and needles and take it from there.
You will also notice that we are keeping a log of dates, pattern details, yarns, and any other notes we feel relevant to out contributions at each stage.
